  2. I want my Mtv

One feature idea I wanted to suggest: Plex music videos as a source for channels. Plex already supports artist-linked music videos, and they show up on the artist’s main page in both the web app and Apple TV app. The problem is that Plex barely does anything with them. They’re kind of hidden away, and there’s very little browsing or control. As far as I understand it, Plex handles these by either: using a global music video folder, or finding them inside the artist folder structure alongside music files If the files are organized in artist-named folders, Plex links them to the artist page automatically. Beyond that, the only other practical way to browse them is to expose that same music video folder as a separate Home Videos library, which is pretty clunky since Plex doesn’t really have a true music video library type or agent. What would be amazing in BunnyEarsTV would be the ability to pull those artist music videos from Plex and treat them as channel content. I’m new to the beta, so I’m not sure how much metadata you’re already pulling from the Plex API, but I assume the path would be something like: pull artists identify artist-linked music videos use that data to build themed channels If the API exposes those linked videos cleanly, this could open up some really fun possibilities using your genre/tag/channel logic. For example: Yo! BunnyTV Raps7200 Seconds (a 120 Minutes-style alt/indie channel)Earbangers BallNew Wave TheaterCountry Fried TV Basically, it would let people turn Plex’s mostly buried music video support into something that actually feels alive and usable like a real MTV/VH1-style cable experience, which feels totally in the spirit of what BunnyEarsTV is doing. Anyway, just wanted to throw that out there because it seems like a really natural fit for the app.

  3. News Channel

Love the new weather channel with ticker. I wonder if the same could be done for a news channel?

  4. Subtitles

I don’t see this on the roadmap currently, and I know there were issues in the beginning with subtitles and captions, but just wondering when and if this will be included? I watch almost everything in subtitles and it is an absolute necessity for me and I’m sure others.

  5. Consistant Subtitles

I notice that the app does not always display subtitles. It appears that if there is an external subtitle file then subtitles do not display in Bunny Ears. Subtitles encoded into the video file do display.

  6. Security Cam Channels

Not a high priority, but might be cool at some point to integrate homekit cameras as a channel option.

  7. Anime Channel only playing a single movie

I have tons of Anime (both films & series) on my server, all auto-tagged under the anime genre by Plex upon being added to my library. For some reason, the Anime channel on my Bunny Ears setup only shows 'Digimon: The Movie' in a 32hr block?

  8. Customizable Ticker on Any Channel

In the effort to cause feature creep. 😬 Sorry dev. :/ Maybe a future version could include a ticker along the bottom that comes on with bad weather, favorite sports team scores, or X updates on any channel.

  9. Hide country codes in rating tags

When a Plex server uses international content ratings, it does so by adding a country code beforehand (see the screenshot attached). It would be nice if these were hidden when pulling metadata, which is what Plex does already.

  10. Use genres for custom channels

It would be cool to pull content for custom channels from genres, similar to how we can currently for playlists & libraries.

  11. Custom channel descriptions

It would be really nice to be able to write custom descriptions for custom channels, similar to the ones that exist on the to auto-generated ones.

  12. Mac App

I know that an iPhone and iPad app are both in development right now, but I was hoping there might be a chance to expand this platform to Macs as well as I'm often having to take my Macbook away when I travel. Would also be really convenient to be able to plug into any TV on the go with just a HDMI cord.

  13. Loop channel guide when reaching bottom

When scrolling list of channels, when reaching the bottom of the list, allow the next "down" input to "loop" back to "channel 2" to make it easier to scroll. Sometimes you need to "go around the horn" to find the channel you want.

  14. iPhone and iPad app

I know that you are prioritizing the Apple TV app but it would be amazing to have the app available for iPhone and iPad as well. When traveling, I don’t tend to bring my Apple TV with me but I do bring these devices.

  15. Channel logos

Have channel logos overlaid while watching video, preferably on the bottom right, see through like network and cable channels
